Ola Aina: Vítor Pereira issues injury update ahead of Forest’s Europa League semifinal clash
Nottingham Forest head coach Vítor Pereira has provided a fitness update on Ola Aina ahead of his side’s UEFA Europa League semifinal second-leg fixture against Aston Villa on Thursday.
Aina sustained an injury in the first leg at the City Ground last week and subsequently missed Forest’s 3-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
Pereira uncertain over Ola Aina availability
Speaking during the team’s pre-match press conference, Pereira expressed uncertainty regarding whether the 29-year-old Nigeria international would be fit for the trip to Villa Park.
“We have a lot of doubts with players but we cannot have doubts around the spirit and what we want and our belief. We will have a meeting to the army and what soldiers we have to go into battle.”
The Tricky Trees head into the encounter protecting a slim 1-0 lead, courtesy of Chris Wood’s pinpoint penalty in the first leg.
Bloodbath Behind Vitality – FUT and Falcons Shatter the Top Five While Giants Collapse in May
Let’s be clear: nobody is threatening apEX, ZywOo, and the rest of the Vitality camp at the absolute peak of the official Valve standings right now. The squad actually managed to pad their lead, boosting their point total from 2063 at the start of April up to 2081 as we roll into May. They are sitting comfortably on the throne, looking almost entirely untouched by the chaos unfolding just a few steps down the ladder. Natus Vincere manages to retain the runner-up position, even though Aleksib and b1t have been bleeding points over the last month, dropping from a solid 1903 down to 1885.
The New Tier 1 Hierarchy: Top 5 Standings (May 2026)
| Rank | Change | Team | Points | Roster |
| 1 | – | Vitality | 2081 | apEX, flameZ, mezii, ropz, ZywOo |
| 2 | – | Natus Vincere | 1885 | Aleksib, b1t, iM, makazze, w0nderful |
| 3 | +3 | Falcons | 1823 | kyousuke, kyxsan, m0NESY, NiKo, TeSeS |
| 4 | +8 | FUT | 1808 | cmtry, dem0n, dziugss, Krabeni, lauNX |
| 5 | +4 | Spirit | 1807 | donk, magixx, sh1ro, tN1R, zont1x |
But it is directly beneath this unshakeable top duo where the server is genuinely catching fire. Falcons have finally found their gear, which was honestly long overdue considering the sheer amount of firepower they pack onto the server. m0NESY, NiKo, and the rest of the star-studded roster were sitting in sixth place back in April with 1769 points. Now, they have battered their way past the competition to claim third place with 1823 points. That is a massive statement. At the same time, Spirit has officially woken up. Led by the terrifying duo of donk and sh1ro, they climbed from ninth place in April, where they sat at 1721 points, straight up to fifth place in May with 1807 points. The gap to the top three is now practically non-existent.
The most absurd jump of the month, however, belongs strictly to FUT. Back in April, the team was down in twelfth place with 1619 points, looking like a roster stuck just outside the elite. By the time May rolled around, cmtry, lauNX, and the rest of the lineup had blown past nearly the entire tier 1 landscape, landing in fourth place with a brutal 1808 points. It is a rare show of force that proves form-heavy teams are punishing every single moment of weakness at the top right now.
And that climb comes at a heavy cost for those failing to keep up with the meta. PARIVISION was sitting pretty in third place last month with 1798 points, but they have now crash-landed down in eighth place with 1747 points. FURIA is also feeling the reality of the skill gap; the Brazilian lineup featuring FalleN and KSCERATO plummeted from fourth place and 1781 points down to a highly disappointing tenth place with 1730 points. MOUZ is also bleeding out placements and falling straight out of the top ten entirely. They were hovering at seventh in April, but have nosedived to eleventh place in May, sitting at 1730 points.
It is also worth noting Astralis, who are slowly but surely building genuine momentum. From a tenth-place finish in April, ryu, Staehr, and IGL HooXi have pushed the squad up to sixth place with exactly 1800 points. The MongolZ are keeping the engine running and moved from eighth to seventh place, cementing the fact that they have permanently established themselves in the upper echelon.
Further down the list, we find the legacy orgs with serious structural issues. G2 is struggling hard to break back into the top ten, practically stagnating as they move from eleventh to twelfth place, even though their actual point value slightly increased from 1664 to 1673. FaZe, fielding megastars like broky and karrigan, are still floundering down in twenty-second place, which is only a marginal, unconvincing bump from April’s twenty-sixth place. For Team Liquid, the situation is looking pitch black. EliGE, NAF, and ultimate completely crashed from 40th in April all the way down to 47th now in May.
What we are looking at right now is a total shift at the top, where squads like FUT are refusing to quietly stand in line behind the old legacy giants. The margins from third down to sixth place span a meager 23 points. The scene is set for an absolute dogfight in the coming weeks, and teams caught sleeping at the wheel are going to be punished severely. Vitality and NAVI might hold the top two spots for now, but behind them, safety is a myth.
